Please take your time to read the assembly instructions to carry out a safe and correct installation. Do not proceed simply by looking at the images!
Before starting the installation process, we suggest watching the related installing video by activating subtitles as well, which contain important information for the montage itself. We also remind you that, when installing, the regulations in force in their respective countries have to be respected in terms of safety. Therefore, it will be necessary to use all the devices needed for personal protection to guarantee the carry out of the installation in complete safety. Thank you! 🙂

WARNINGS:

Avoid exposing the interior doors to direct sunlight or other heat sources as they could alter their appearance and/or structure.

Do not store the doors in humid or extremely hot environments, and make sure to keep them at least one meter away from a light-absorption lamp to avoid damages of the lacquer.

Doors are packed in a cardboard box with the door slab covered in polystyrene on 4 sides. To unpack them, use scissors only (not cutters or other cutting objects).
Please proceed to open the cardboard very carefully in order not to damage the door finish.

Do not place the doors in an unsuitable way (do not overlap them, do not let them slide on the ground, etc.). If the doors are temporarily placed against a wall, always use a protective sheet to prevent contact from ruining the lacquering.

Before installation, please check the integrity of the product. In case of any discrepancies or faults, contact the seller.

ATTENTION: the door assembly must be carried out by a specialized team.
Installation carried out directly by the non-specialised end customer could cause the product to function incorrectly and the warranty to be lost.

MATERIAL

Before beginning with the installation, make sure you have the following materials:

  • Pencil
  • Spirit level
  • Drill/screwdriver
  • Hex Allen key
  • Shims
  • Polyurethane foam
  • Neutral silicone
  • Scissors/cutter
  • Hammer

Each door is delivered with:

  • box containing vertical and horizontal trims that need to be cut on spot (since they are higher than necessary) + door frame that needs to be assembled + assembling hardware and hinges
  • box containing door slab, lockset (already installed) and key on the upper edge of the door slab
  • box containing handle and its hardware

ASSEMBLY OF THE DOOR FRAME

Unpack the frame and trims package placing the frame components (that is to say, the vertical side jambs and the head jamb) on a horizontal surface.

Place the side jambs with the hinges and strike plate facing upwards. Insert the wooden pins into the appropriate holes and fit the head jamb. To connect the vertical side jambs to the head jamb, we recommend inserting the side jambs slightly open outwards as shown in the video. This step will make it easier to insert the pins into the appropriate holes. Then screw in with the screws provided. In two people, insert the frame into the wall hole, bringing the lower ends of the frame slightly closer together to facilitate this step. Once the frame has been inserted, check with an Allen key or a straight piece of wood that the frame is mounted perfectly level with the wall.

Install the frame by fixing it to the wall opening with screws (not supplied) which must be suitable for the type of wall (masonry, plasterboard or wooden additional structure). Always check that the frame remains level when fixing it with screws. We suggest fixing the screws on the hinge side first, then checking the position of the frame (using shims if necessary) and fixing the door frame on the other side too. Cover the screw heads with the stickers provided. In order to avoid having holes covered by stickers on the door frame, one might drill the holes for the mounting of the door frame underneath the acoustic gasket (therefore detaching it and then reinserting it into the groove) and fixing the side jamb with the hinges in correspondence with the hinge seat.

The choice of the most suitable screws for the type of existing wall will be the responsibility of the installer. The professional will thus be able to fix the frame in the wall opening, ensuring that it remains level when the polyurethane foam is applied. Permanently fill the spaces between the wooden additional structure/wall and the door frame with polyurethane foam.

This method of fixing the door frame with screws (also shown in the video) is simply one possible assembly option. The professional responsible for assembling the product may decide to use other methods, assuming responsibility for the correctness of the assembly.

Finally, screw the concealed hinges to the door frame, using the screws provided.

ASSEMBLY OF THE DOOR SLAB

Remove the protective shipping packaging by opening it on the frame side in order to avoid damaging the parts which will be visible after the installation. Retrieve the key located on the upper edge of the door slab before installing the door slab in the frame, to avoid damaging the latter. Install the door slab by fixing it to the hinges previously mounted. Check that the door slab is level.

Tip for adjusting the door slab through the concealed hinges: The hinge portion fixed on the door frame adjusts the depth of the door slab; while the one fixed on the door slab regulates its position, allowing it to be moved slightly to the left or right. Use an Allen key to adjust the hinges by working on the screws indicated in the video (link).

INSTALLATION OF THE TRIMS (OF THE DOOR CASING)

Attention, the trims are not the same:

  • Side jamb on the hinge side/on the pull side: 12mm thick and 90mm large, flat, non-adjustable. This jamb has a small groove to facilitate its assembly on the frame with the aid of a small guiding rod.
  • Side jamb on the push side (L-shaped): 9mm thick and 95mm large, provided with a side tab that will be inserted in the groove of the door frame.

Proceed as follows to cut the trims correctly:
Attention: During this step, do not fit the trims with force, but insert them delicately into the grooves. Mark the cutting point of the height of the vertical trim using the horizontal trim as reference. Cut the vertical trims. Insert the vertical trims in the grooves of the door frame and consequently mark and cut the horizontal trim.

Now fit the trims, starting from those on the hinge/pull side. Insert the black guiding rods into the frame groove using a rubber mallet. Then put the vertical trims and then the horizontal one in place, using a rubber hammer.
Please note: the guiding rods can be cut to length if necessary.

In the case of L-shaped trims for the push side (both vertical and horizontal), please proceed with this additional step: Place the vertical trim close to the door frame and mark with a pencil the point where the side tab of the vertical trim will have to be cut, i.e. at the level of the end of the frame. This cut will thus allow the tab of the trim to be inserted into the groove of the frame to ensure that it is flush with the wall. Repeat this procedure for the horizontal trim as well.

Fit now the trims on the push-side, inserting the side tab into the groove in the door frame.

To ensure greater sealing, apply silicone to the back of the trims and fix them permanently. Once the trims have been fixed, apply the covers on the hinges as well.

ASSEMBLY OF THE HANDLE

Inside the package there are:

For the handle, proceed as follows:
Insert one plastic mounting plate in the lever handle with the spindle and another plate in the other lever handle. Check that the mounting plates are positioned horizontally, then insert the spindle in the handle hole of the door slab, hooking the other part of the handle on the other side of the door slab as well. Then secure the plastic plates with the two screws provided. Momentarily remove the handle to pressure mount the rosette. Reinsert the handle and secure it permanently with an Allen key.

Repeat the previous operations with the mounting plate for the key hole, after checking that it is positioned horizontally. Insert the key to check that the plate is centered in the hole.
Tighten the two upper screws and hitch the rosette for the key hole.
